What Is Polyester-Cotton Yarn? What Is Tencel-Cotton Yarn? What Are the Characteristics of Bulky Acrylic Yarn?

The main characteristics of polyester-cotton blended thread include high breaking strength, generally more than 40% higher than cotton thread of the same specification; good abrasion resistance, generally about twice that of cotton thread of the same specification; low shrinkage, with a shrinkage rate of only about 0.5%, making it suitable for sewing synthetic fabrics and wrinkle-resistant cotton fabrics while maintaining flat and neat stitches; good heat resistance, allowing it to be used on high-speed sewing machines operating at 3,000–4,000 r/min, with an ironing temperature of around 160°C; and good softness and elasticity, making it suitable for sewing textile products.

Tencel-cotton blended fabrics have softer and more attractive colors, and the yarn has much better evenness. Unlike pure cotton, they contain fewer impurities such as neps and cottonseed hulls, giving Tencel-cotton blended fabrics a more refined appearance. In the past, people often believed that Tencel could only be used for lightweight, flowing, and draping spring and summer garments. However, Tencel-cotton blended fabrics have changed this perception. The blend itself has a heavier feel, and since Tencel-cotton blended fabrics do not require sand washing during dyeing and finishing, the production process is simpler, reducing concerns in product development and innovation.
